Here is a post that I have been wanting to do for a
really long time because these are really special to me. Like I mentioned when I shared my
thrifted books, old snapshots were also one of the things I would look for when I first realized how much fun thrifting could be. I've always loved photography, especially the kind that captures every day moments, people around you, little adventures together. And when I first shuffled through some of these old photos in a junk store, I was in love.
Each one captures something completely different and personal, something I will never know the story behind but nonetheless harbors endless stories in my mind. I love the look of them, the white borders and scalloped edges, the different black and white tints and creases, the details and clothing from a completely different time. But most of all, I love seeing the moments these people chose to capture when photography wasn't as convenient and commonplace as it is today.
you could think up so many stories behind each one of these - i love that - it makes me wonder about their lives and who took the pictures too! a v.cool and interesting collection - thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI love this collection!
ReplyDeleteI also am in love with your new apartment! I wish I could be as mix/matchy as yours...but my boyfriend is a very matchy person! We've had to make pinterest boards agreeing on certain things! Your little bitty studio is great too! The organization is lovely, I am going to have to make my studio as mix/matchy as yours...no boys allowed!
Thanks for popping by Five Sixteenths!
This is such a fantastic collection! I really love going through my parents old photos. They are all just so interesting.
ReplyDeleteThese really are incredible. I don't come across many old photos when I'm out thrifting - maybe I need to keep my eyes open better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection! They remind me of the old summer photos hanging on the walls at my old summer camp. I like collected old random photographs and I especially like giving them out to people for whatever reason!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and promptly added it to my bloglovin' account! I love the bags and bows that you make. And I too am addicted to vintage photos.
