MY FIRST VIRGINIA CRAFT MARKET

On Saturday I set up at my first of three holiday craft markets here in Virginia. This one was the Artsy Party at the Hampton YMCA. I had never participated in a market quite like this before, but everything went smoothly. And it's always cool to talk to new people as they walk by and look. I always love talking to the other vendors, too. Things like this are such a huge help in meeting new people - moving to a completely new place isn't easy at all. And meeting new people you have something in common with can be even harder. Hopefully I'll have more luck soon.

I was so happy with this show set up. There's a store here that sells stuff for stores...like display stuff. It's called The Store for Stores. Really. So I got these grid wall panels and all the hooks there. I love that it makes it easier for customers to see fabric choices without having to shuffle a bunch of stuff around. And I love my little bow tie mannequin.

My sewing machine had a malfunction last week when I was preparing for this...and it's at the repair shop right now. So cross your fingers that it's gonna be okay. I don't want a new one because I love my old one a lot. I'm hoping I'll have it back before I know it so I can start working hard for these upcoming December shows.

Hope everyone's week is starting off well!

  1. I always love your set up! My machine is on the fritz as well and I haven't had a chance to take it in, that's something I've never had to do before. So good luck to you, I'm sure it'll be just fine. I need to take care of mine for sure.
