PLACES AND THINGS

first row: our "backyard" and railroad tracks under the interstate
second row: Read Brothers downtown Charleston, a half fabric store-half stereo equipment store
third row: best oven fries ever and hotel carpet
fourth row: lattes with Rosie before she moved away and the sky (that black spot near the middle is a bird)

WHAT I SEE: MAIL, CABOODLES, AND FABRIC

This is what my day looked like. It was an excellent mail day (fabric and two perfectly belated Valentine's/Galentine's cards). I put all of my nail polish into my old Caboodles case circa 1995. Printed some fabric. And yes, that plant really does move like that. The sunlight makes him dance.

HAPPY VALENTINES

It was a nice, cozy, cloudy day here - and it was a perfect Valentine's Day, too. Douglas and I watched The Wedding Singer (one of my favorites) this afternoon, which was extra fun because he had never seen it before Then we had dinner at Fuel Charleston downtown. It had been our list of places to go for a long time, and I'm so glad we finally went. We had ho cakes, which are crispy corn fritters, for an appetizer, and I had a house-made black bean burger with fries. It was all extremely delicious. Now we're enjoying our night at home, and it's starting to rain. I hope everyone else has had an amazingly lovely day.

WHAT I SEE: A THURSDAY

Today I kind of did a lot. These were the three things that stuck out (so far).
I've wanted to try this recipe for a long time. They're like those cakey sugar cookies you get at the store. I love how simple they look. They're really really good, and eating one of them is like eating a slice of cake. i highly recommend them.
I just bought a paper bag from Present and correct's ETsy Store. It might be one of the best thing i've ever bought.
also i sewed a lot today. i'm really excited about making new things.
Tonight i'm going to a crafty meet up to etch glass. i've only etched glass once before. I used a butterfly stencil and made votive holders. This time i'll do a little better.

CRAFT ROOM CHANGE-UP

I found a better bulletin board with more space than the one I was using. So I painted the edges with black chalkboard paint, hung it up today, and redecorated a little. I also added a clothesline under the board to hang up littler things. I love redecorating in this room - it's so small, so a little does a lot.
And I also reorganized my buttons by color. I thought it would make picking and choosing them a little easier.
It always feels good to reorganize and change things up a little!
